Abstract Giraffes

Artwork statement

This painting is about comfort, connection and feeling at ease in the company of another. Although the colours and atmosphere are quite dark, the relationship between the giraffes brings a sense of warmth to the piece. Standing together within a jungle-like landscape, they quietly look out at the world around them. I wanted the painting to feel calm, reassuring and full of compassion, showing that even in darker places there can still be closeness and light.
